untitled
That I could love you
As the wind
Loves the ones with wings
That I could love you
As the sun
Loves the soil
And all it grows
That I could love you
As the moon
Loves the ocean
And as the ocean
Loves the shore
And as the shore
Loves the lovers
That lay there
Listening to the lyrics
Of a low key love song
The rhythm
Of the water
The melody
Of the soft silvery glow
As the wind
Loves the ones with wings
That I could love you
As the sun
Loves the soil
And all it grows
That I could love you
As the moon
Loves the ocean
And as the ocean
Loves the shore
And as the shore
Loves the lovers
That lay there
Listening to the lyrics
Of a low key love song
The rhythm
Of the water
The melody
Of the soft silvery glow

This poem flows and shows a tender inner light.
In this poem I can feel and see the waves on the shore, and the soft light--they are there in the repeating open vowels and soft consonants, and the wavering shore-like form of the lines down the page. I like all the l's and s's and o's and r's.
You have made English into a sensual language--I had despaired due to reading so many Pablo Neruda poems and their translations that captured the meaning but not the gorgeous sound. Wow--you did it!
Actually, I love everything about this poem.
That first stanza is incredible.
I agree.
