it's funny, i wrote this poem about dealing with other people, as well as all the different situations we encounter in the world. It wasn't until a couple of days after i wrote it that i realized that it describes the process of breathing!
That is as I suspected. And that is how I read the poem also--the breathing image came afterward. It's such a great analogy to how we reach out towards others, and then withdraw our energy and regroup, as a spontaneous ebb and flow. As you say, the challenge is to relax and let it happen, harmoniously.
